How To Sync Any Folder To SkyDrive And Use It On Windows

With the entry of SkyDrive in the market, Microsoft has step into the world of cloud storage. However like other cloud storage services, SkyDrive has also some limitation like lack of synchronization of folders from computer and also it does not run on Windows XP. This tutorial will help you people to overcome these limitations and get maximum benefits from this cloud storage service.

Follow the guidelines and you will eventually be able to use SkyDrive on Windows XP and will also be able to sync the folder from computer.

Sync Any Folder to SkyDrive

Use SkyShellEx utility which is of course a third party utility. With the help of this utility, a right-click option is attached to the folders which synchronizes the folder to the SkyDrive. Remember to download the version according to the version of your windows i.e: 32-bit or 64-bit.
When you have completed installing the SkyShellEx, right-click on any folder and select the option Sync to SkyDrive. By doing this the folder will be sync to the SkyDrive.

Using the SkyDrive on Windows XP

Windows XP doesn't support the installation of SkyDrive application. But still you can use the Skydrive on Windows Xp. A third party utility called SDExplorer can be used for this purpose to access SkyDrive on XP. When the SDExplorer is installed, you can access it through My Computer.
You will have to log in to your Windows Live account after you double-click on this SDExplore. Then you will see the SkyDrive as an actual drive on your computer.
